Brazilian leather producers are reporting increased business prospects following this month’s trade fairs in Milan. According to the Brazilian Leather export promotion project, the six Brazilian tanneries exhibiting at Lineapelle expect business generated from the event to reach US$11.7 million over the next twelve months, 10 % more than after the corresponding edition in 2025.
The participating companies were Bolzano, Fuga Couros, Courovale, Nova Kaeru, OCM Best Brasil and Couro e Arte. Buyers from Italy formed the largest group of visitors to their stands, followed by contacts from China, the UK, Germany, France and the US. Their participation was supported by Brazilian Leather, a joint export initiative of the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency Apex Brasil.
Brazil was also represented at Simac Tanning Tech, which took place alongside Lineapelle. CICB organised a technical mission involving representatives from the Gobba, Mucca Pelli, Kromática and Vitapelli tanneries, with a focus on new technologies and international industry exchange.
The 108th edition of Lineapelle, held from 15 to 17 September, attracted 22,800 professional visitors and more than 1,000 exhibitors. According to the organisers, attendance increased significantly compared with September 2025.
Alongside the trade fairs, the Brazilian delegation also took part in industry meetings and events, including activities involving the International Council of Tanners and the launch of the Global Leather Alliance.
