On 8 September 2026, Fashion Link Milano brought together five fashion trade fairs at the ADI Design Museum. At “The Buyer Journey”, Micam Milano, Mipel, The One Milano, Milano Fashion & Jewels and Simac Tanning Tech aim to shed light on the changes in the buying process from different perspectives. The focus will be on preparing for a trade fair visit, buyers’ selection criteria, and tools and services for more efficient planning.
In the retail sector, decision-making increasingly begins before the actual visit to the trade fair. Product range planning, the search for new brands, product availability and delivery times play just as much a part in this as the requirements of the respective markets. In the B2B sector, the focus is on technical and production-related criteria, performance, innovation, sustainability and the responsiveness of suppliers.
Micam Milano plans to expand its activities for international buyers for its September edition. A new digital matchmaking platform is designed to simplify appointment scheduling and the selection of offers. The service is complemented by the Trends Buyer Guide, which provides an overview of the season’s must-haves.
Mipel brought the perspective of the leather goods industry to the table, whilst The One Milano focuses on changes in the outerwear segment and international sourcing. Milano Fashion & Jewels relies, amongst other things, on fashion shows and a digital platform to help visitors prepare for and follow up on their visit to the fair. Simac Tanning Tech examines industrial investment decisions relating to technology, automation, data and sustainability.
The event was moderated by trend researcher Orietta Pelizzari. Independent buyer Chiara Allegra Moretti and storyteller Federico Galli also took part in the discussion. The heads of the participating trade fairs, as well as Giovanni Bozzetti, President of Fondazione Fiera Milano, were also set to speak.
Fashion Link Milano sees itself as a platform for exchange between trade fairs, companies, buyers and the various stages of the supply chain. The aim is to create synergies and strengthen Milan’s position as an international hub for fashion and trade fair events.
